Gossips Galore

Ever wondered what the life of IITian is before entering IIT? IITians are widely regarded (by ppl who know IIT which in itself is a low percentage :o) are people 24 x 7 with books and (in my case they say) in front of a laptop. So i would like to unearth one of the multiple sides of many IITians, Gossiping.

As the same old story goes, after two years of IIT life, i am having sleepful nights at home largely due to my deep kumbkaran slumber in the morning. Maybe that is why i had this strong inclination to blog lately. So when trying to rake up interesting snippets of my life, i noticed this fact about my life, me and my friends do a lot of gossiping. I have always shunned away from my relatives when they gossip, often irritated but never realised that i was actually doing it myself with friends. So where can i attribute this change? Where did it start?
Back in high school till 10th i never involved myself a lot with friends. The shift to P.S. for 11th and 12th may have been the source of it all. I had taken my time settling in and after i changed my IIT classes to mambalam, i got my best friends gang. The classes used to be a lot of fun largely because sir never let the class to go dull, making wisecracks and pulling somebody's leg. The famous Mr.Nokia was at his best to make sure that there were pairs of students and often the source of all the controversy and thus paved way to all the gossiping. "If you can't beat them, join them.", so we all got going.
Fortunately most of us from that gang ended up together in IIT. Our common place, the mess became our next destination of gossiping. Even the innumerable nuance complaints from other members of the mess could not deter the likes of chapli and our new members ram, known for his ability to speak in light year words per sec and cjr, known for his very hilarious personality. It was always the 1 hour of sheer entertainment even for bystanders and onlookers and it did take our minds off whatever we were enduring. There were the odd occasional causalities, once caught in the padmavyuha were turned on their head.
Birthday nights meant parties at CCD. CCD is one place which never short of gossips. A round table chat were everybody is targeted without any partiality. Occasionally the journey to and from CCD did flare up gossips. Usual girlfriend taunts were the comic relief in otherwise dull classes. Words had to be carefully spoken in case the double meaning fellows( there are many :P) pick you.
Though it added nothing to the mind, it did add something for our lives. It took our minds off the more pressing issues and refresh it. Hoping i am not the victim of the gossips that are going to follow, i wish the brewing gossips to continue.
